Meet the artists
**Cec Peterson**
A singer, songwriter and storyteller through song, Cec is a mature, professional, well-presented and outgoing artist who is passionate about supporting live music, artists & venues alike.
Cec began performing professionally with her sisters, as The Rough Diamonds, in 2006, performing at music festivals, clubs, pubs and several venues around NSW, QLD and VIC.
Branching out as a solo artist, Cec created an even more intimate and engaging experience for her audiences.
An accomplished songwriter, Cec has released several songs over the years, many of which have gained radio airplay on high rotation across Australia and indeed internationally. Her lyrics are raw & honest, drawing from her life experience & the people she has encountered.
Her latest single, “This Old Guitar”, is a tribute to sharing her stories through song with the help of her trusted timber friend, was released in July 2025 reached number One on the
Australian Traditional Country Music Chart just weeks after its release.

**Ashley Cook**
Ashley Cook is an Australian bush balladeer from Queensland.
Born in Monto, QLD, he grew up listening to Australian country legends like Slim Dusty and Buddy Williams. He began playing guitar and singing at a young age and later formed bands. In 1999, he formed "The Kookaburras" with his children.
He has won numerous awards, including the Drover Music bush ballad competition and multiple Queensland Bush Balladeer of the Year awards. He was inducted into the Australian Country Music Hands of Fame in Tamworth in 2019 and was crowned Australian Bush Balladeer of the Year at the Hats Off Festival in Tamworth 2025.
He is known for his authentic bush ballads and tributes to Australian rural life and artists.
**Jeff Brown**
Jeff Brown is well-known & respected drummer in the Australian Country Music scene. In his early years, he performed at many weddings & social events.
Jeff spent much of his working life training horses & working on the land. He has been a member of several country bands throughout the years. The Rusty Ringers, touring from the top end, down the east coast, to South Australia. A highlight of that tour was performing at the iconic Ettamogah Pub.
Since his retirement, Jeff has immersed himself in music, he still plays with The Rusty Ringers as well as The Footloose Country Band, The Redback Country Band & has been a member of Coaltrain.
**Luke Solomon**
2026 is about to sound a whole lot better — because Luke Solomon just stepped into his solo boots and he’s already kicking up dust on the country scene!
His debut single turned heads, his new release has fans singing along, and his on-stage energy could power a small town. (Seriously, someone check the lights.)
If you like your country music authentic, loud, and just a little bit wild, Luke Solomon’s your guy.
**Anthony Baxter**
Anthony Baxter is a Bush Ballad/Traditional guitar player, hailing from Tamworth, Anthony works closely with LBS Studios releasing instrumental singles which have reached number 1 status both in Australia and overseas.
**Rick Ferret**
Dr Rick Ferret was born in Wauchope on the Mid North Coast of NSW in a predominantly rural setting with sawmilling and farming being the major industries of employment.
These contexts provided Rick with many opportunities to be involved on country and folk music. He purchased his first guitar aged 14 and has been involved in music ever since. While music has always been central, he has also had a varied career as a nurse, chaplain, minister and University educator. Rick has a PhD in Sociology.
Rick is a singer/ songwriter and multi-instrumentalist including the pedal steel guitar, dobro. Fiddle, mandolin, ukelele, guitar, bass and saxophone. Rick also sings in a male quartet. HE has recorded 7 CDs with the latest “Stand Tall” his first original album. He presents solo concerts and continues to provide instrumental and vocal backing for many individuals and bands in Australia and overseas. Recently, Rick toured Australia with Australian greats, Lindsay Butler and Graham Rodger.
Rick enjoys being heavily involved in music, backing other musicians and encouraging and supporting people seeking to experience the joy of music.
**Greg Bain**
Greg Bain was born in the Hunter Valley region of New South Whales in 1960, but as a child he moved around quite a bit living in places such as Wingham, Trunkey Creek, and Gunnedah. He now lives at Lake Macquarie.
In 2006 Greg went along to the Bellbird Country Music Club to have a listen to the local artists. It was there that he met Slim Newton, Slim convinced Greg to get up on stage and sing a few songs. Greg became a regular performer at the club and later on that year he became a regular member of the band, playing rhythm guitar.
Slim convinced Greg to enter the Australian Bush Balladeers Star Quest at the 2007 Tamworth Country Music festival. Much to Greg’s surprise he won and as part of the prize package Greg received the honour of being the ambassador for the Australian Bush Balladeers Association for the following twelve months. Appearing at most of the East Coast Festivals during the year he became well established in the Bush Ballad scene with a very loyal fan base.
Since winning the Australian Bush Balladeers Star Quest in 2007, Greg has been a regular on the country music festival circuit travelling thousands of km’s every year performing from Port Perrie to Bundaberg.
Greg has won many industry awards during his music career and in 2014 was Inducted onto The Australian Country Music Wall of Honour.
Greg has recorded five albums to date all producedby Lindsay Butler, and is currently working on his sixth.
