Welcome to Kavatation Mondays! Join us for an evening of Kava, Tantric Hatha Yoga, Gong Relaxation, Film, and Chill Tunes. Come Unwind, Elevate and Recharge at in Wynwood.
The evening will begin with a Traditional Tantric Haṭha Moon Practice, medicine for the modern Miami mind, featruing a Gong Śavāsana. Dāv Ānanda (luminousmind.yoga) will lead us in a deep, challenging and nourishing Āsana practice with longer holds and an emphasis on creating stability and calmness of both body and mind.
The practice will be followed by movie night and the evening will groove on with chill indie tunes to take a lil break from the electronic soundtrack of Miami.

MOON PRACTICE:
Moon Practice is the first stage of the Moon, Sun, Fire Tantric Hatha Yoga progression. It is a deep, challenging and nourishing Āsana practice with longer holds and an emphasis on creating stability and calmness of both body and mind. Standing poses and floor work coupled with a focus on conscious and extended exhalations are used to guide awareness inwards and touch the pure space of stillness, Puruṣa, that exists beyond the thinking mind. Moon practice is the foundation of all Tantric Haṭha practices that follow. Always take the Moon with you.
Methodology: To calm, ground and stabilize
• Forward folds and twists
• Focus on developing exhalation
• Gentle work with Mulabandha (Root Lock)
• Longer holds and a focus on physiological steadiness
Bhav (Theme):
• I am not my thoughts. I am that which experinces the mind thinking.
• Developing insight into the nature of the mind.
• Yoga is about stability more than flexibility.
• Connecting to the aspect of Self that exists beyond the mind, Puruṣa, pure consciousness.
