Don’t have a date and bored Valentine’s night? Hate Valentine’s Day because you think it’s only for couples? Have kids and want a Valentine’s Day fun for all ages? You’ve come to the right place! Love Day doesn’t mean it’s only for romantic love. You just have to reframe your thinking and change your perspective. There’s love of family, friends, and platonic love. Come celebrate with my cosplay charity group Cosplayers 4 Change for a fun night of cards like playing cards, Uno, What Do You Meme, I have Kuromi Yahtzee, but people are also welcome to bring their own cards and board games if they’d like. There will also be friendship bracelets making and trading. If you’re not a bracelets person, you can make glasses/sunglasses chains or keychains. I have letter beads, pony beads, elastic string, scissors etc. I also have clay beads and glass seed beads but I don’t use them because of dexterity issues in my hands. Let me know if you’d like me to bring them for you. If you have your own supplies, you can use your own supplies and join us. I have limited charms and specialty beads but you’re welcome to use what I have. I don’t know how last year’s Valentine’s Day Swap went but the previous year was chaos. There was a DJ and nobody could hear who was there for the meetup. If it’s chaos again, I’ll just skip it and give it away at this event, so if you want to trade ribbons for a Valentine’s Day goody bag with bubbles, stickers from Vocaloid, Spy X Family, and Sanrio fandoms plus regular Valentine’s Day stickers, candy, and whatever I can find. If I can swing it, I’ll be giving out heart shaped balloons on a stick to go with my Miku cosplay. They will be Mylar and not latex in case of latex allergies.
I was hoping to host it in the Atrium Cafe because there’s lots of tables, we can grab coffee, food, there’s charging, etc.
If anyone would like to co-host, feel free to let me know. I set the time as placeholders that can be adjusted so we can start earlier and end later depending on people’s schedules. I know there’s panels and photo shoots or dinner plans. I’m flexible on that. Just let me know what works for everyone. If you’d like cosplay pics taken but have anxiety, nervous, etc. I’ll have a safe space for you to feel comfortable and I take pics of everyone because cosplay is 100% for EVERYONE!! No matter who you are or what you look like. You’re not too short, too tall, too fat, too skinny, not too old, not too young, wrong gender, wrong skin tone, there is no wrong way to cosplay. As long as you are culturally appropriate and don’t do black and brown face or darken your skin color, or try to mock other races or cultures like Indigenous people, etc. Be sensitive to other’s needs and don’t criticize people’s cosplays because they’re not homemade, don’t have expensive wigs, or high quality armor, etc. Not everyone has the same resources and can afford $60-100 for wigs when some might be their total budget for their cosplay. Everyone is a real cosplayer.
Only Rules:
