After multiple years of feeling like we were negotiating with the Fire Nation, THE AVATAR IS BACK at Katsucon! Please note that we are organizing TWO photoshoots due to, frankly, behind-the-scenes monkey feathers. The big one is the unofficial one Saturday at 7 PM; more info below!We thought this event would be better than a messenger hawk to promote the fandom's UNOFFICIAL photoshoot meetup that we've scheduled on Saturday at the time we've reserved for years: 7 PM! Location TBD, but honestly we might try and stake claim on some area of the fountains after 8 PM, just to make a statement. As Toph likes to say, "Yeah, let's break some rules!"
Our "official" one is Friday at 4 PM. Not a great time, right? Not only is it well, not Saturday, it's right during the Gaylord's weird lighting hours, right in the middle of official programming leaving us no wiggle room... yeah, Team Avatar is not a fan. We're planning for the official photoshoot to be more of a promo for the unofficial photoshoot Saturday at 7 PM. Our goal is that if we come together by ourselves just like the four nations, then Katsucon will realize that no matter what they try and do to us, they can't knock us down!
(...and hopefully next year Katsucon will actually schedule us during the time we expect. If they release a feedback form this year, PLEASE mention this is the second year in a row that they failed us, and that our fandom deserves more! The more benders and non-benders alike speak up, the more we will make an impact and they will need to listen.)
