Kathak Dance

Theme: KATHAK DANCE - Tarana/Vandana

You wish to to deepen your basic knowledge or haven't danced for some time and would like to get back into practise?
This workshop provides 4 days of intensive dance training, specially designed for beginners with a basic understanding of Kathak Dance.

You will refine your steps and movements while experienced instructors will guide and support you in developing your dance skills.
The workshop consists of two parts, each lasting 6 hours, structured to build upon each other for a comprehensive learning experience.

• Sat/Sun 15.-16.06. 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm (Part 1)
• Mon/Tue, 17.-18.06. 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm (Part 2)

• Posture and body movement
• expressive storytelling in Kathak Dance
• Foot percussion (Tihai)
• Dance sequences (Tukra) that you can practise and dance confidently and independently after the workshop.
• Personal and detailed feedback and help to improve and learn your dance skills
• 2 choreographied pieces (Vandana, Tarana)
• Practice of the rhythmic dance language of Kathak (Padhant). Handout included
• music class (vocal)
• Notation of dance compositions in Teental. Handout included
