Kate de Gruchy is a multidisciplinary artist living and performing in Johannesburg.With a background in classical composition and a particular interest in the intersection of sound, poetry, and spirituality, she has spent years moving through the city’s creative spaces, trying to understand rules and then test them.
The concert will be an intimate and exploratory journey through the evolution of her latest releases.
Beginning with strong classical piano influences, it will move through a more folk-rock sound before culminating in an electronic jazz atmosphere. Covering themes that range from the emotional to the political, the performance promises an experimental, deeply personal, and immersive experience.
