If you love GIN, food, and a little bit of HIDDEN history – this is an experience you won’t want to miss.
Just east of the city center lies the quaint, quiet and green Modderfontein.
As gold fever gripped the Witwatersrand, dynamite was needed for blasting in the mines. In the early 1890s the world’s largest dynamite factory was built at Modderfontein.
Before tasting the awesome gin and food from Dynamite Distilling (they have won quite a few prizes) we take a short stroll to the dynamite museum where we trace the tales of concessions, deceptions, and ingenuity. We trace the story of Alois Nellmapius, Alfred Nobel, the Italian dynamite specialists, explosions, Rhodes, and many more.

Dynamite distilling will have your 3 gins ready-to-taste when we sit down. This consists of 3 different gins as well as 2 mixers to enjoy (included in the tour fee)
They have an excellent food truck (Think Pizza!) for a great Saturday afternoon lunch. Stay as long as you wish and listen to the live music on the veranda.
The tour fee is R370 inclusive of the gin-tasting and museum entry.
