1:30pm - 3.00pm KOHA WORKSHOP: Climate Friendly Composting - https://www.facebook.com/events/1704614757650028/ Registration required - email [email protected] to register.
It’s well known that composting is a lot better than throwing food scraps in landfill - reducing greenhouse gas emissions, returning nutrients to the soil, improving soil health and microbiology, sequestering carbon in the soil, and growing more kai. But... composting still produces greenhouse gas emissions. The recipe and the composting method used can hugely affect the amount of greenhouse gases emitted during the decomposition of organic materials, and the quality and biological composition of the resulting compost can have climate implications too.
Join us to learn about a range of composting methods and the climate impact they have, and find out what practical techniques you can use to minimise emissions from composting at home and make the most healthy compost possible.
This is a koha workshop and we ask you to pay what you can afford. If that’s a gold coin that is completely fine! If you can afford more we really appreciate it - we are a charity and rely on donations to be able to carry out our mahi. Koha can be paid in cash or by bank transfer.
Registrations required - email [email protected] to sign up.
