About this Event
A debut production written and directed by M.T. George and produced by WAXWING Productions.
Kabul Waltz is an original play set in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan through the final months of 2008. Second platoon of Bravo Company in the esteemed 82nd Airborne Division grinds through the seemingly endless challenge of the War on Terror-- entering, at this juncture, its sixth year.
The members of the platoon are each cogs in an imperfect war machine. Their Sergeants are hardened veterans, doing their best to sand down the fear and inexperience of their young privates; their two sergeants, despite growing up together, represent vastly different paths to their positions of command. The company contains Catholics and atheists, teenagers and the middle-aged, women and men, men and boys, from every part of the United States-- from North and South, the desert to the mountains, from sea to shining sea.
As they settle in to the intense and claustrophobic nature of their deployment, each soldier must discover what it means to move as part of a unit, which secrets must be guarded, which must be revealed, and how best to protect their still painfully individual hearts.
