Join us on March 27 at the historic Wabasha Street Caves for the Germanic-American Institute’s third annual Kabarett fundraising event.Slip beneath the city streets into the caves, transformed for one night into a vibrant jazz-age cabaret. Filled with the playful spirit of early 20th-century musical theater, the evening offers delicious food, drinks, and unforgettable performances, all guided by the charming MC Douglas Kruhöffer (a.k.a. Paul Douglas). As you enjoy this one-of-a-kind underground experience, your support directly fuels the mission and vital programs of the Germanic-American Institute.

Our Performers
Bradley Greenwald
Bradley is a versatile singer, actor, writer, and director with over thirty years of experience in the Twin Cities arts scene. Bradley is known for his adaptations of literature into opera and musical theater. He has collaborated with organizations like Open Eye Theater, Schubert Club Mix, Theater Latte Da, Music Saint Croix, St. Cloud Symphony, the Oratorio Society of Minnesota, and Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Bradley is the recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board Fellowship in music, the McKnight Fellowship for Theater Artists, and the Ivey Award.
Prudence Johnson
Prudence is a celebrated singer, songwriter, and performer with a career spanning musical theater, film, radio, and international concert stages. A long-time contributor to A Prairie Home Companion, ,Prudence is known for her recordings, multi-media works, and collaborations, including creating musical plays with Chronofon and touring shows like The Golden Age of Radio and Another Song About Paris. Prudence is the recipient of a Presidential Fellowship from Hamline University, a McKnight Fellowship, and an Artists Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
Mistress Ginger
Mistress Ginger (she/her) is a Juilliard-trained performer based in the Twin Cities. With a passion for storytelling through song, she has brought her cabaret magic to stages across the Twin Cities, from the Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater to Crooners Supper Club. And she can cook, too! Her cookbook, Mistress Ginger Cooks: Everyday Vegan Food for Everyone, was published in 2014. To learn more, visit mistressginger.com.
Jordan Hedlund
Jordan is no stranger to the Minneapolis music scene and performs extensively, currently working mainly as the Music Director for touring shows with Rhythm Street Movement. Jordan also performs with Dylan Salfer, Midnight Love, and his organ trio Captain Organ.
