About this Event
Kabaddi Community Session – All Levels Welcome
Join us for an inclusive and engaging Kabaddi session open to all ages, abilities and experience levels. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or have played before, these sessions are designed to be welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Kabaddi is a dynamic, team-based sport that combines elements of strength, agility, strategy and teamwork. Played in teams, participants take turns entering the opposing side of the court to tag players and return safely, all while holding their breath and maintaining focus. It’s fast-paced, exciting and deeply rooted in community play.
Our sessions focus on participation rather than competition. You don’t need any prior knowledge or fitness level to take part — just a willingness to get involved, try something new and enjoy moving your body in a supportive environment.
Each session will be guided by experienced facilitators who will:
- Introduce the basic rules and structure of Kabaddi
- Lead warm-up exercises and simple drills
- Support you to build confidence through practice
- Facilitate friendly, adapted games suitable for mixed abilities
Activities will be adjusted to suit the group on the day, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable, safe and able to take part at their own pace. You can choose how actively you want to participate — whether that’s fully joining in, taking breaks when needed, or observing before getting involved.
The sessions are designed to:
- Encourage physical activity in a fun and engaging way
- Build confidence and teamwork skills
- Create a relaxed, welcoming space to meet others
- Support overall wellbeing through movement and connection
All equipment will be provided, and sessions will take place in safe, accessible indoor venues. Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for light physical activity and bring water with you.
This is a friendly, community-focused space where everyone is encouraged to take part without pressure. Come along on your own, with friends or with family — you will be welcomed.
Spaces may be limited to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, so booking in advance is recommended.
Kabaddi Cultural Discussion – Stories, Heritage and Community
Join us for a welcoming and thought-provoking cultural discussion exploring the history, meaning and lived experience of Kabaddi within Bangladeshi culture and the wider community.
This session creates a relaxed space for conversation, reflection and shared learning. Whether you are familiar with Kabaddi or completely new to it, you are invited to listen, contribute and engage in a way that feels comfortable to you.
Kabaddi is more than a sport — it is a practice deeply connected to community, identity and tradition. Through guided discussion, we will explore how Kabaddi has been played, experienced and passed down across generations, and what it represents for people today.
The session will be supported by facilitators and community voices who will help guide conversation around themes such as:
- The cultural and historical roots of Kabaddi
- Personal stories and lived experiences connected to the sport
- The role of Kabaddi in community life, both past and present
- Connections between tradition, identity and belonging
Participants are encouraged to share their own reflections, stories or perspectives, but there is no expectation to speak. You are equally welcome to simply listen and take in the discussion.
This is an inclusive, respectful space where different voices and experiences are valued. The conversation will be shaped by those in the room, creating an organic and community-led dialogue rather than a formal lecture or presentation.
The session is designed to:
- Create space for cultural storytelling and knowledge sharing
- Encourage intergenerational conversation and learning
- Strengthen community connection and understanding
- Offer a reflective, low-pressure environment for engagement
The discussion will take place in an accessible, community-based setting with a relaxed and informal atmosphere. You do not need any prior knowledge or experience to take part.
Whether you come on your own or with others, you will be welcomed into a space centred on respect, curiosity and shared experience.
Spaces may be limited to ensure a comfortable and engaging discussion environment, so booking in advance is recommended.
