Juneteenth @ Miyagi Records ✨
Juneteenth is both a remembrance and a celebration — honoring liberation, resilience, and the generations of Black families, communities, and cultural workers who carried that history forward. On the Southside, that legacy continues to live through the culture and creativity that have long helped shape Chicago.
In that spirit, Miyagi Records is opening our doors for a full day gathering rooted in reflection, joy, and music.
This year’s Juneteenth celebration is for our family, friends, neighbors, and everyone that continues to make spaces like ours meaningful.
From Open Decks / DJs soundtracking the day, to community vendors, coffee and bites from Call It Coffee + Bread Head Bakery, and the new Create + Meditate workshop, this is meant to feel less like a formal event and more like what it should be: a space to gather, connect, reflect, and celebrate together.
We’re grateful to be able to hold space for moments like this on the Southside, and grateful for the histories, people, and cultural traditions that make gatherings like this matter!
