When new songs inevitably begin to join a bands well-worn setlist, it always poses a few key questions.
Is this tour a last dance, a goodbye to an album which has served a band well?
Or is it a new kind of sway for them, with one foot in the past soon ready to join the other in the present?
When asked these questions, frontman Jules Sheldon can only laugh to himself, responding with “I’d say it’s both”, before cheekily saying “but I guess you’ll just have to find out by coming along to the shows”.
The power trio of Sheldon (vocals, guitars), Joseph Foley (bass, lap steel, vocals), and James Turner (drums) have spent the last three years bringing their energetic live shows and unique jangly country-punk sound to venues all around Victoria, sharing stages with artists such as Mick Thomas, Jae Laffer, and Skyscraper Stan, while building up their own devoted fanbase along the way.
Playing their 2025 album ‘Electric Transport' alongside select new songs; Jules Sheldon & The Boundary Riders hit the following venues around metro and regional Victoria in May 2026:
8.5.26 – MERRI CREEK TAVERN, MELBOURNE: W/ FREYA JOSEPHINE HOLLICK - 8:30PM/$25-$30
9.5.26- COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL, TRENTHAM: (JULES SHELDON x2 SET SOLO GIG) - 3PM/FREE ENTRY
10.5.26 – SHEDSHAKER TAPROOM, CASTLEMAINE: W/ FREYA JOSEPHINE HOLLICK - 5PM/FREE ENTRY
16.5.26 – TANSWELLS HOTEL, BEECHWORTH: W/ ELLEN JAMES - 8PM/FREE ENTRY
"The album is a short yet enjoyable one, featuring a variety of musical styles at each tram stop. Don’t forget to buy a return ticket." - AMERICANA UK (7/10)
"An electric, vibrant track" - ROOTS HIGHWAY ITALY (reviewing Tramways in My Mind)
“Something about Sheldon’s latest album screams “MELBOURNE”, whether it is the jangling opener “Tramways in My Mind” complete with strategically placed tram warning bells, or an undeniable Paul Kelly-like timbre to his vocals” - RHYTHMS MAGAZINE
“Great LP. Songwriting and playin’ all simmering high.” – TIM ROGERS (You Am I)
“Think Ray Davies melodic stylings with a healthy dose of the spirit & vibes from his beloved mentor Spencer P. Jones.” – KIM SALMON (The Scientists, Surrealists)
"There’s a sense that Tramways, The Uncles, Burning Schools are important subjects to sing about. It’s not as if the delivery is overly
earnest or that anything is laboured, just that Sheldon and his inspired band deliver the songs in a way that is as believable as it is enjoyable.” – MICK THOMAS (Weddings Parties & Anything)
