Sweet, monthly songwriters' series 'JS Presents' is a TRANZAC institution, usually happening the 3rd Saturday, 5-7pm every month. This month I have the honour of featuring the incredible Alex Samaras (Tryal), mere days after the announcement of his 2026 Juno Award nomination! 🎉This residency is basically an excuse to hear some incredibly skilled and creative pals feature their original songs in a chill, pared down way with a little more time for the songs' backstories. The series also includes the brief that each artist must WORLD PREMIERE at least one brand new song so whoever attends gets to hear something very special and fresh out of the oven!

Hope you'll stop in, even if just for a few tunes! The music will be sweet, and flow freely, and there will be world debuts, and lots of breaking of the 4th wall. This is different than a usual performance - more insights from the songwriters, and a wonderful listening room. Cover is the good ol' pwyc generosity jug, as always at the Southern Cross room, sugg. $10-20, but no one turned away. xo
