The HEAT IS ON The Underline! Bring your kids to our free basketball skills & drills camp with the Miami HEAT and sponsored by Swire Properties.
Starting Saturday, December 14th from 9:00 -11 AM, Jr HEAT Skills & Drills will be offered to children in the community. The clinics will take place on The Underline's Flex Court sponsored by Swire Properties in the Urban Gym, a flexible outdoor recreational space. Children 8 to 14 years old are welcome to participate.
The free basketball clinic sponsored by Swire Properties will be led by the Miami HEAT and will be taught by Jr. HEAT coaches. Each week will focus on learning a different basketball skill while also learning about life skills, respect, and sportsmanship.
Jr Heat Dates & Time: Registration is required.
- Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 9 - 11:00AM.
- Saturday, February 1st ftom 9 - 11:00AM.
- Saturday, February 22nd from 9 - 11:00AM.
- Saturday, March 1st from 9 - 11:00AM.
- Saturday, March 22nd from 9 - 11:00AM.
- Saturday, April 12th from 9 - 11:00AM.
Location: The Underline Urban Gym located on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th Streets.
What to expect:
- All participants must be within 8-14 years old.
- No cleats or non-sneaker shoes will be allowed on the court!
- Up to 30 attendees. Registration is required.
- The program lessons include dribbling and the proper technique for a layup; learning how to dribble with the opposite hand; shooting techniques; and shooting off the dribble; jump shots and dribbling to jump shots, and finally, learning specific shots like floaters and more advanced dribble techniques.
PRO TIPS:
- Streetside parking is first come first serve. There is no dedicated parking lot!
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the camp to checkin and get your wristband. Gates and registration open at 8:45 AM.
- The Underline is fully outdoors - wear comfortable clothing , sneakers, and apply sunscreen.

- 🚆Take the Metrorail to Brickell Metrorail Station, exit North and walk to the Urban Gym, located right after crossing SW 8th street. The Urban Gym is on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th streets.
- 🚴♂️Walk or bike (bike trail on The Underline as SW 1st Avenue and SW 1st Street) to the Urban Gym, located right after the crossing to 8th street. The Urban Gym is on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th streets.
- 🚗If you drive, please use nearby public parking lots at Brickell City Centre and Mary Brickell Village. Then walk to the Urban Gym on SW 1st Ave between SW 8th and SW 7th streets.
Our Rain Policy: The event will be cancelled 2 hours before event time in the case of 50% or more chance of rain. Thunderstorms or Lightining will result in immediate cancellation.
