"Acting Beneath the Lines: Subtext and Story - An Acting Workshop."
Butler (Arts Director Capital City Public Charter School) and Barge (D.C. Theater Educator) will, during the workshop, explore the art of acting through subtext - i.e., what’s really being said beneath the lines. Through guided script work and improvisation, participants will learn how to uncover hidden motivations, deepen character choices, and bring greater authenticity to their performances. This discussion is ideal for beginning and experienced actors looking to strengthen emotional truth and connection onstage or on camera. But all are welcome and encouraged to join and participate.
Members of John Philip Sousa Lodge are reminded to bring, and wear, their lodge aprons.
Please RSVP to the Secretary at [email protected] so we can account for refreshment.
