About this Event
Journeys of Belonging, by Geraldton’s Housing First Support Services (HFSS), explores the transformative power of community and belonging through the lens of storytelling and photography.
Homelessness is one of the most pressing social challenges of our times, yet the pathways into and out of homelessness are not widely understood. HFSS works closely with Geraldton's homeless community, supporting the most vulnerable, helping them into a home and then walking alongside them to help maintain their tenancy.
Journeys of Belonging documents the stories of people of Geraldton, shared through their own words and images, at all stages of this journey. The exhibition makes the invisible visible, building awareness, understanding and empathy. It raises questions of social equity and justice and serves as a call to action.
At this free official opening you will have opportunity to meet the photographer, Trevor Pickett, and discuss the HFSS program with local representatives.
Light food and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served.
