Journeying Across The Himalayas is a first-of-its-kind multidisciplinary festival that celebrates stories of and from the Himalayas. Bringing together travellers and communities through installations, exhibitions, and experiences, the Festival spans art, music, dance, theatre, culinary journeys, conversations, and more.
This year’s theme, “Ours to Tell”, beckons you to look at the Himalayas as a living archive of stories, identities, traditions — reclaimed, reinterpreted, transmitted by those to whom they belong.
Start at the festival’s centre, where monks from Namgyal Monastery will create a live Sand Mandala—an ancient, sacred practice rarely shared outside the monastery.
Explore interactive exhibitions such as “Hub of Many Heart(h)s”, where conversations on conservation, responsible tourism, and cultural safeguarding converge, “The Himalayan Knot: A Journey Through Pashmina” centred around an experimental collection exploring the fabric’s intersection with jamdani weaving techniques and “Echoes of the East”, which celebrates Northeast India’s intangible cultural heritage.
Savour authentic Himalayan flavours at the ‘Thap’—a dedicated space for you to indulge in culinary experiences, and learn something new with a diverse array of workshops for all ages.
Be captivated by music, dance, and theatre as the evenings come alive with performances from across the mountains—Balti Ghazals, Uttarakhand’s folk-fusion collective The Pandavaas, Arunachal singer-songwriter Chorun Mugli, and the Thoda Archery Dance.
