About this Event
The Journey Home Film Festival
The Journey Home Film Festival is a celebration of African and African Diaspora filmmaking that takes place annually in Atlanta. Our mission is to showcase the best of African Diaspora cinema, promote the growth of the African American film industry, and foster a renewed cultural exchange between African Americans and Africans on the mainland.
Our festival features a diverse range of films, including feature-length and short films, documentaries, animations, and experimental works, all created by talented filmmakers from across the African diaspora. We showcase films that tell compelling stories, highlight important issues, and provide new perspectives on the world around us.
In addition to film screenings, we offer workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities that bring together filmmakers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts to exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and build relationships. We also host the Liberian Film Awards, which celebrate local actors, actresses, producers, filmmakers, sound technicians, sound track creators, videographers, and directors for their outstanding contributions to Liberian cinema.
The Journey Home Film Festival is proud to be a platform for the promotion and growth of Liberian and African filmmaking, and we are committed to supporting the next generation of filmmakers as they tell their stories and shape the future of cinema in Liberia and beyond.
