A need for connection and creativity brought Illinois based rock band Hotter Than June together in 2005. Five friends influenced by emo and post hardcore bands such as Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail and Thrice - Hotter Than June shaped the connection to their fans through engaging live performances and emotive lyrics.
Over the course of the next three years, Hotter Than June released two EPs: Leave All The Pretty Things Alone and Back Seat Classic. Divorce, college and distance contributed to the band going their separate ways in 2008.
The members grew up and put down roots. They started families and careers. But, the desire and craving to create and connect never fully went away. Ironically, in June of 2022, Hotter Than June decided it was time to resurrect a part of themselves that had been lying dormant for nearly 14 years. And in 2023 they released four singles, Glass Water Pill Swallow, Sweet Revenge, Culprit and What If We Change.
The musical fingerprint that is Hotter Than June is still found in their lyrical content, melodies and music. However, all of the singles are unique from one another and have their own story to tell. Hotter Than June is back and are currently recording their debut full length album appropriately titled, Waiting For A Revival.
Josh Humphries is the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for Hotter Than June. He plays solo acoustic sets of Hotter Than June songs.

Bruce L. Moon is a singer-songwriter, active painter, and performance artist. He has logged years of stage time performing at colleges, dive bars, open mics and concert venues. For the last twenty-five years he has performed solo in a range of settings, including WVIA public radio in Scranton, PA, The Roisin Dubh in Galway, Ireland, a street festival in Savannah, a coffeehouse in Seattle, the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Bishop Hill Creative Commons, and street festivals around his hometown, Bloomington, IL.
Bruce has 23 LPs available on Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music and videos of his work can be seen on YouTube atwww.youtube.com/user/bclunar123. He believes that good music ought to comfort people who have been afflicted and afflict people who are too comfortable. He earned a couple master’s degrees from a Methodist Seminary and a PhD in creative arts from the Union Institute in Cincinnati. He spent 22 years working as an art therapist at a psychiatric hospital in Columbus and another 20 years as a college professor in Scranton and Milwaukee. People he’s met, and experiences from the places he's been are woven deeply into his music. He says, “Everybody has a story and I hope my songs honor and comfort the folks I’ve encountered.
