About J.J. Fad:
J.J. Fad is a pioneering female rap group that gained fame in the late 1980s with their platinum-selling hit single "Supersonic." Formed in 1985, the group's name is an acronym for the members' names: Juana, Juanita, Fatima, Anna, and Dania. However, the lineup that achieved commercial success was Juana Burns ("MC J.B."), Dana Birks ("Baby D"), and Michelle Franklin ("Sassy C").
J.J. Fad was one of the first female rap groups to receive a Grammy nomination, and their influence paved the way for future female artists in hip-hop.
