Jewellry Noire. Born of shadow. Worn as art.Jewellry Noire is a curated vendor market celebrating adornment that lives in shadow; dark, ritual, symbolic, unusual, eccentric and curious jewellry and accessories.
Created as a focused alternative to general vending markets, this one-day event will bring together independent jewellers, metalsmiths and accessories artisans whose work explores the strange and unusual, Gothic elegance, memento mori, ritual symbolism, bone, relic, brutalism and the beautifully macabre.
Jewellry Noire will happen 10am–4pm, Saturday, July 11 at Maritime Hall at Halifax Forum. Admission $5 at the door.
Designed to elevate craftsmanship, narrative, and material, Jewellry Noire is not a curiosity show, nor a craft fair, but a deliberate gathering for those who see jewellry and accessories as wearable art and symbolic object.
Our audience is composed of enthusiasts, collectors, and buyers who value intention, originality, and meaning as much as visual impact.
Jewellry Noire is curated exclusively for adornment: jewellery and wearable accessories. Garments and full clothing pieces fall outside the scope of the show and are not permitted. Objects and products outside the scope of jewellery and wearable accessories are not permitted.
The market is open to artisans working in silver, gold, mixed metals, bone, stone, leather, resin and unconventional materials, as well as designers inspired by mourning traditions, occult symbolism, historical ornament, and contemporary Gothic and Dark Arts design. Vintage and estate pieces are acceptable only if on theme.
The audience is composed of enthusiasts, collectors, and buyers who value intention, originality, and meaning as much as visual impact.
Expect a slower, more thoughtful engagement between vendors and attendees, with space to appreciate detail, process, and story.
Jewellry Noire draws from the same cultural ecosystem as Halifax Oddities & Curiosities Show and Dark Odd Artists (D.O.A)— dark art, and alternative fashion scenes. The vendor market is produced by the folks that stage the Oddities show and DOA.
