We’re honoured to present two programmes of excellent short films made in Jersey, or made by Jersey filmmakers currently living elsewhere; also two films made by Guernsey filmmakers. Ranging in style from a poetic Jèrrais piece, two dramas, a period film and a documentary made in Uganda by a Jersey filmmaker. Many of the filmmakers will be present to introduce their films. Vraiqu'sie

Jèrriais for ‘seaweed gathering’, Vraiqu'sie follows a group of ‘vraiqu’rêsses’ whose labour transforms into a ritual that honours the symbiotic relationship between land and sea. With a soundtrack of Jèrriais songs, the film is a meditative reflection on community, creativity, memory, and ecological connection.
