About this Event
Join us for an unforgettable Art Talk with acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Jeremy Biggers, whose powerful voice and visual storytelling align with the themes of resilience and identity explored in AfroMexican Journey: Yanga, Slavery, and Freedom. Through deeply personal insight, Jeremy will discuss the importance of finding and defining your identity in a world that often tries to define it for you. His story of overcoming obstacles mirrors the courage of Yanga and the AfroMexican experience, echoing today’s challenges and the strength required to rise above them.
This inspirational evening also highlights Jeremy’s sculpture Combustible Man, on view now at Museo de las Americas as part of the exhibit. He also created the monumental mural in Five Points celebrating the 2021 MLB All-Star Game—adding a powerful public art legacy to this city. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience art and dialogue that speaks to the heart of who we are—and who we dare to become.
