Canterbury - New Boaters River Experience Day.Date: Sunday 23rd February
Time: 10:00am to 1pm+ approx. Please be launched and ready to go by 10. (If you want help with launching let us know).
Where: Waimak Main Road Ramp
You are invited to a driver training day to help you upskill and get more river experience. The day is for all new boaters who want to improve their skills.
The day is aimed at enhancing your jet boating skills in a no-pressure environment, with an experienced team to guide you on the day.
Some activities/topics will include:
- Reading the river
- Locating a place to stop and park up
- How to choose a channel: why that one and not another one?
- Dealing with traffic on the river
- Turning, stopping and maneuvering in a current
We will start onshore and then look to go for a run up to the pylons, stopping a few times along the way.
ALSO - if you want to help out and share your experience please let us know!
Things to bring:
· Good attitude
· Open mind - there's no such thing as a dumb question!
· Fuel for 3 hours boating
· Boat - in Safety Checked condition
· Life jackets for everyone in the boat
· Polarised sunglasses (great for reading the river)
