About this Event
Led by Guido Spannocchi on saxophone, this second edition explores the vibrant sounds of Calypso and Caribbean music—expect exotic excursions among joyful jazz classics.
Alongside Guido, we once again welcome an all-star cast of London’s finest talents: the young lion Harry Ashworth on piano, who has quickly become ‘one to watch’ after his studies; Tokyo-born Mao Yamada on bass, easily one of the most sought-after sidemen; and Durban-born Wesley Gibbens on drums, arguably one of the best drummers in town.
Step into our hidden Brixton venue where speakeasy ambience meets live jazz at its closest. Surrounded by low light and just feet away from the musicians, the evening unfolds as a close-up, atmospheric celebration of London’s rich cultural landscape and the genre of jazz.
