International Jazz Day 2026
Live at the National Art Gallery.
About this Event
Sonority Entertainment proudly presents “Jazz Is Dead?”, a two-day International Jazz Day experience taking place on April 29–30, 2026. The project is designed to celebrate, question, and reaffirm the relevance of jazz within Bahamian culture, positioning the genre not as a relic of the past, but as a living and evolving art form deeply rooted in national identity.
The initiative opens on April 29, 2026, with a free student concert and interactive jazz masterclass welcoming an estimated 200–500 high school students from across New Providence. Led by professional Bahamian musicians, including the Central Drive Collective, this experience introduces students to live jazz performance, improvisation, ensemble interaction, and creative career pathways, while removing financial barriers to meaningful arts education.
