January/February 2025 Law Enforcement Training
Dates :
- Fridays: January 24; January 31; February 7; and February 14
- Saturdays: January 25; February 1; February 8; and February 15
Times: Fridays – 1:00 to 5:00 PM and Saturdays -- 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
*Commitment* Registration requirements (and to receive a certificate) will include a written commitment form to complete the entire training and be included in a providers’ directory to be distributed to law enforcement agencies in Minnesota. This form will be emailed to you when you are registered.
**Must be licensed and reside in MN to participate.
The Adler Graduate School’s Law Enforcement Specialty Training is being provided for licensed mental health professionals to better understand police culture and its specific challenges and help law enforcement officers better manage their trauma, burnout, and stress responses.
Assist law enforcement officers & families with:
• Burnout and occupational stress
• Trauma symptoms
• Work and family relationships
• Addictive behaviors
• On-the-job coping strategies
Curriculum includes:
• Law Enforcement mentality
• Culture of policing and how it affects individuals, couples, and families.
• Emotional Regulation Techniques
• Communication skills in family life
• Help with managing public criticism
• Holistic, Adlerian approach to well-being
Promotion of Services: Upon completion, your name & contact info will be included in a state-wide directory of trained mental health professionals in law enforcement. Officers in Minnesota will have access to this directory and be able to contact you.
Board approved: Adler Graduate School is approved for CEs by the National Board of Certified Counselors for LPCC, LPC, LADC. For LICSW, you must submit paperwork for your Board approval.
MFT: The Specialty Training for Counseling Law Enforcement and Their Families has been approved by the MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. It is approved for 36CEs, one hour of which is Ethics and 2 hours for Cultural Competence.
