Jan Rimerman is an artist inspired by the evolving forms in nature, particularly from her childhood in the Pacific Northwest. Her travels enrich her work, prompting viewers to discover unexpected beauty in varying lights and seasons. With an emphasis on color, texture, and form, Rimerman employs a powdered charcoal base layered with up to 22 translucent acrylics, revealing hidden images that change with the light. Educated at prestigious institutions, she has exhibited widely and serves as Visual Arts Coordinator at the Lakewood Center, while also directing initiatives like Rock...Paper...Turtle...Art for Wetlands. Passionate about promoting the arts and global awareness, Jan balances her creative endeavors with competitive tennis and the companionship of her six rescue turtles.
