Course Detail / Outline:
Writing the Wild is a weekend immersion in creative practice inspired by the rich landscapes of The Lost Gardens of Heligan. We will explore techniques of writing the wild, investigating ways in which we can connect with the spirit of a place, feel the ways in which we can know of the footsteps of our ancestors on that landscape, and how we can know something of the nature of deep time.
We will write together through the day, working with words to frame our views of seeing the wild, sensing the nature of all things, always remembering to be mindful of the living landscapes that exist around us. Through guided writing exercises, mindful exploration, and supportive feedback sessions, you will learn to deepen your sensory awareness, connect with ancestral and ecological histories, and cultivate a writing practice rooted in attention and presence. There will be plenty of time for talking, writing and reflection.
Individual tutorials are built into the programme to provide tailored feedback on your work.
