//Jackson Harpe is a trumpet player and teacher in the Tampa Bay area. He moved from his home in Marietta, GA in 2013 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies at the University of South Florida (USF). Upon receiving the degree in 2015, he expanded his network and began working in Tampa Bay as a freelance musician.
While his main focus is jazz, Jackson is also capable of playing various music styles like classical, rock, and is experienced with musical theater productions, including an international tour with a production of The Wizard of Oz in 2018.
He regularly works with other musicians in the area, has recorded for several local music albums, and has also performed with world renowned artists such as: The Temptations, The Four Tops, Mary J. Blige, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Mathis, and Amy Grant. He also leads his own jazz/funk band called The Jackson Harpe Collective. In addition to his work as a performer and teacher, Jackson also composes/arranges music and works for the NPR radio station, WUSF 89.7, as a host for All Night Jazz//
