Wes and The Railroaders
Wes Hamilton is a songwriter, guitarist, and pedal steel guitarist from Charlotte NC.
Wes’ music has been described by fans as “trucker funk” and he jokingly calls the sound “Nü-Southern Rock”. It's familiar but fresh and genuine throwback country rock with tongue in cheek political songs, somber sad tunes, and riffy twang rock you can dance to. It sits in a unique space somewhere between Doug Sahm, Nick Lowe, and Harry Nilsson. His band Wes and the Railroaders were voted Charlotte’s 2nd favorite country band by QC Nerve readers in 2024, an acclaim they hold near and dear. Wes and the Railroaders perform all over the Carolinas and have been repeat performers at Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion in Bristol TN/VA.
