Recognition Night is back at Jasna, curated by Jacek Sienkiewicz. This time, he welcomes a true sonic shapeshifter: Roman Flügel. Active since the early ’90s, Flügel is a master of transformation, effortlessly weaving house, techno, and everything in between into unpredictable, forward-thinking journeys.Roman Flügel and Gerd Janson stand as pillars of the German dance music scene, both deeply rooted in the Rhine-Main area and connected through years of mutual respect and collaboration. Flügel has released on Janson’s revered Running Back label — a home whose motto, “Guilty Feet Have No Rhythm”, perfectly reflects both artists’ restless, genre-defying paths.
While Running Back has become a platform for everyone from underground veterans to rising talent — and while Janson himself has remixed artists ranging from Pet Shop Boys and The Chemical Brothers to Metronomy and Christine and the Queens — Flügel remains defined by one constant: change. His DJ sets are wild cards, shaped by an expansive and eclectic discography.
Janson, on the other hand, is known for locking into that irresistible sweet spot between house and disco, guided by deep musical intuition and years of experience that began in music journalism. With Flügel’s background in musicology, the pair naturally invite a timeless question: does music need to be understood to be felt?
Completing the night: the host himself Jacek Sienkiewicz, Warsaw stalwart Mic Ostap with his signature precision and energy, and a Salon lineup that blends legacy with fresh blood — Warsaw's legends Artur8 and Eliza, alongside the exciting and talented Taan.
