A 5Rhythms® workshopwith Laura Martin-Eagle (USA)
This is the journey of the spirit through the body. We bring awareness to the space within as we carve our path through our existence. When spirit has the space to move freely, we find ecstasy. Ecstasy, not as an escape or a high, but as embodied awareness and presence.
The 5Rhythms will be our container and guide. Flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness are the teachers that will inform our exploration. The 5Rhythms is our practice and our ritual.
Join me on this I-map of the soul’s journey to ecstasy as we explore inertia, imitation, intuition, imagination and inspiration together on the dance floor.
Laura Martin-Eagle
Laura Martin-Eagle is one of a small group of senior 5Rhythms® teachers accredited to offer three levels of Gabrielle Roth’s Maps – Waves (since 2001), Heartbeat (since 2010) and now Cycles in 2025. She has been teaching at her own studio, Be Moved Studio in Lawrence, Kansas for 25 years.
In addition to her dedication to the 5Rhythms, Laura has been studying, performing and teaching a variety of dance forms for over 60 years. She studied Dance Therapy with pioneers such as Marian Chace and Trudy Shoop. She has performed with artist Roger Shimomura and choreographer/dancer Marsha Paludan. Laura also performs and teaches Contact Improvisation having studied with Julyen Hamilton and Kirsti Simpson in the early ‘80s. She also studied Kathak Classical Indian dance with the Master Chitresh Das who in 1997 brought this form to the USA. Laura is also an Ayurvedic practitioner for over 20 years and established Moon Jewel Ayurveda Center.
We recommend you have attended some 5Rhythms Waves classes prior to attendance at this workshop. All workshop hours are prerequisites for the 5Rhythms® teacher training.

Saturday Feb 21: 10-5pm
Sunday Feb 22: 10-5pm
Castlemaine is a great place to visit whilst participating in a workshop. A rural, historic town in a relaxed bush setting about 1.5 hours by train from Melbourne. Castlemaine attracts conscious, artistic types-something creative is always happening! If time allows, we encourage workshop participants to come earlier and stay a little longer. This workshop offers an allocation of tickets at different price points i.e. ‘Tiers‘. The number of tickets remaining for each tier will display in the checkout below.
We have a broad range of financial capacity in our community. Please reflect on what you are able to pay and choose accordingly.

One additional tier ‘pay it forward’ invites members of our dance community to join us in creating subsidised places for those who need it. Please write to us if you need a subsidised place to be able to attend.
