Discover the power of voice and emotion through the beauty of the Italian language.
In this two-hour Expressive Reading workshop for adults, you’ll explore Italian texts by bringing them to life through rhythm, tone, and interpretation. The session focuses on enhancing pronunciation, intonation, and fluency while deepening your connection with the language.
Designed for students from level B1 and above, this workshop offers a creative introduction to performance in Italian — the perfect first step toward our upcoming Italian theater course. No acting experience required, just curiosity and a passion for expression.
Read. Feel. Speak Italian.
Novecento by Alessandro Baricco
A poetic and reflective monologue about life, music, and the infinite.
For this expressive reading workshop, we have chosen the excerpt where Novecento compares life outside the ship to the keys of a piano. This passage is a beautiful metaphor that explores the idea of the unknown, the complexity of choices, and the feeling of being overwhelmed by the vast possibilities of life.
As students read this passage, they will be encouraged to experiment with different vocal dynamics, facial expressions, and body language to convey the nuanced emotions of the text. This will help them not only improve their Italian language skills but also develop a deeper connection to the literary and emotional essence of Baricco’s work.
