About this Event
Ceardlanna teanga ag trí léibhéal - language workshops at three levels! Glucksman Ireland House will be hosting its bi-annual Irish language workshop to both introduce new learners to the beauty of the Irish language and to allow more advanced students to sharpen their skills and work on their grammar and conversational abilities. We will host classes with a variety of instructors teaching at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels that will combine discussion about Irish culture and language resources. The event will close with a reception and general conversation and is open to all!
Please select a ticket associated with your estimated language course ability. Participants will have an opportunity to change their selected level after the start of the day if they wish to increase or decrease the difficulty level. In general, one can consider:
- Beginner level to be most suited to those who have never been exposed to the language, or who have had some instruction here and there but in general are still mastering grammatical concepts and only starting to acquire speaking and understanding ability.
- Intermediate level to be most suited to those who have a grasp of most (but not all) points of grammar, who are tentatively but increasingly confidently able to speak, and who have had numerous previous instruction sessions in the language.
- Advanced level to be suited to those who have gained a measure of fluency in the language, who are comfortable speaking and understanding, who have a good grasp of its grammar, and who are ready to engage in extended conversation.
