About this Event
Industry Takeover is back for 2024, supporting the talent of tomorrow from the underground up...
Join us on Thursday 26th September at Talent House for Jacqueline Springer, Curator, Africa & Diaspora: Performance at the V&A In Conversation With… Candice Carty-Williams & Swindle.
What does the sound of contemporary memory - our personal and interpersonal dramas, the joys and tragedies - sound like beyond the music that is ever-present in our lives?
If our lives were to be fictionalised, what musical form would accompany their screenplays?
That's the challenge Queenie author Candice Carty-Williams shared with London-based producer, Swindle.
In taking up the challenge in lieu of Channel 4's recent broadcast of Williams's best-selling and highly acclaimed novel, Swindle scored contemporary memory but without licensing our respective online playlists.
How do writers, dramatists, producers and musicians put modern memory to song, when the songs of our lived experiences are so numerous, accessible and presumed 'apt'?
Join Candice and Swindle In Conversation with Jacqueline Springer, Curator, Africa & Diaspora: Performance at the V&A to learn about the processes of creativity and collaboration.
