“It’s Gone!” | Art Heists in History

From the first art theft of The Last Judgement in 1473, to the works by Degas, Manet, Rembrandt and Vermeer stolen in 1990 from Boston's Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum, and perhaps most famously, the theft of the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in 1911 - art heists have long captivated the public's attention. Join Helane Rheingold in a conversation as she discusses some notable art thefts throughout history. Together, we will learn about the artists and their stolen works, and discuss what made these pieces targets for theft—some of which have been recovered while others remain missing to this day.

Program will begin at 7:00 pm; PMH Galleries will be open for viewing at 6:00 pm.
