About this Event

Issue 4 Launch Event for the Postgraduate Pedagogies Journal

The fourth issue of Postgraduate Pedagogies will be published in June 2024 and includes fifteen exciting and topical essays written by GTAs from a range of UK institutions, with a foreword by Professor Martin Oliver.
For the first time, we are having a hybrid launch event! Come join us in person or online to share some refreshments and celebrate the launch of our newest issue. The editorial team will be joined by the authors to introduce the latest issue and reflect on the on-going need for a space dedicated to the GTA perspective.
We will also reveal the winner and runner-up of the cover artwork competition for the fourth issue. Finally, the editors will share plans for the coming year and discuss ways to get involved.
Everyone is welcome to join, please bring your friends or prospective authors! Please register to attend on Eventbrite to help us gauge numbers for catering. A Zoom link will also be shared with registered participants joining us online the day before the event.
Please reach out to us if you have any accessibility requirements. In the event of an emergency, our current venue only has stair access. If you have any mobility requirements and/or have a PEEP (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan) that you wish to discuss, please contact us in advance so that we can review arrangements.

About the Journal

Postgraduate Pedagogies is an online open-access journal devoted to publishing the experiences, reflections, and analyses of Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), and those who work with and support GTAs. GTAs now make up a substantial part of the Higher Education workforce across all disciplines. Postgraduate Pedagogies responds to this trend by foregrounding the voices and insights of GTAs. Now in its third year, the journal provides a dedicated place for GTAs to reflect on and share their teaching experiences in the form of reflective essays, opinion pieces, case studies, book reviews, technology reviews, and original research articles written by or with GTAs.
To find out more about Postgraduate Pedagogies and keep up-to-date, visit the journal website , follow us on twitter, and join the journal mailing list.
