About this Event

Are you wondering if a heat pump might be the right choice for you?

Recent volatility in oil and gas prices might have you questioning how you heat your home, and whether there could be a better, and greener, option. Heat pumps offer a clean alternative to fossil fuel-based heating systems such as oil, LPG and gas, and with government backed grants available, should you be considering this as a next step?

Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN) invite you to find out more about heat pumps at a free talk on Wednesday 15th April. Industry expert and Royal College of Science associate Bean Beanland will outline what heat pumps are, how they work, and the benefits they can bring – from lower energy bills to a smaller carbon footprint. He will look at installation and financing challenges too, and you will have an opportunity to ask your questions.

If you’ve been hearing more about heat pumps in recent years but still feel unsure about how one would work in your home, now is your chance to consult a specialist directly.

PeCAN are an environmental charity offering free expert and impartial advice - this is not a sales event.

The event will conclude with information about the free, impartial energy advice service, My Home Made Better - run by the experienced advice team at PeCAN working alongside energy advisers at the Environment Centre (tEC). Advisers could help you understand why your home might be losing heat in winter, what’s causing high energy bills, and whether there might be opportunities for you to make the most of grant funding, earn money back from the grid, or increase your property’s overall value. Recipients have told PeCAN that the advice offered is ‘clear and extremely helpful’.

Bean Beanland has over 17 years' experience, including eight years with an installation contractor, in energy and carbon mitigation strategy and in conceptual technology selection, procurement and the installation of mechanical services and renewable technologies. He has recently featured as an expert panelist on .
