Does Irish music get your feet tapping? This is your opportunity to get up and dance to some cracking tunes.
On Saturday 18th of April will be a full day of Set Dancing workshops, wrapped up by an evening Céilí. Come to St Michael’s Hall in Kelburn to meet new people and enjoy a great time in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. No dancing experience needed, just a bit of coordination, some energy, and a big sense of fun!

No experience necessary, suitable for beginners and experienced alike. This is not Irish step dancing, not Riverdance!
Experienced teacher Helen Stonehouse will guide you through the moves and figures.
For many years she has taught Set Dancing at workshops and festivals across the UK, Australia, and Aotearoa. Our amazing Round The House Céilí Band, featuring Roger Stonehouse, Em Griffiths, and Thomas Stonehouse, will be playing lively jigs and reels and polkas for us throughout the day.
There are two workshops during the day. In the evening we’ll have a Céilí when we'll dance some of what you learnt in the workshops plus some Irish céilí dances.
Anyone is welcome to buy tickets to the Céilí without attending the workshops.
Schedule:
Workshops 10am - 4.30pm
Céilí 7.30 - 10:30pm

You can come along without a partner, there will always be someone to dance with
Age 10 upwards. Under 16s accompanied by an adult
We recommend smooth-soled shoes if you have them
Bring a water bottle, hydration is key!
Parking is limited, we recommend catching the bus. Routes 4, 18, and 21 all stop right next to the hall.
