On August 31, 2025, the West Terrace of the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines will be filled with love, remembrance, and unity as families and advocates from across the state gather for the Iowa Overdose Awareness Day Memorial. This event is to honor our loved ones and to stand together in hope and healing.We will say their names. We will share their stories. We will remember.
Through testimonials, moments of silence, and symbolic tributes, this gathering offers a space for connection and support. It is also a call to action—to end the stigma and to honor lives with compassion and dignity.
