Summer Sundays are back for their fourth season! Join us every Sunday evening this summer at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater as it comes alive with free live music from talented local artists. From 6 to 8 pm, a different band will take the stage each week to get your toes tapping and your hands clapping.
Each concert also features a rotating lineup of food trucks offering delicious meals and treats to complement the music and make your evening even more enjoyable. Food trucks will begin serving at 5 pm, so come early, grab dinner, and settle in for a great night of entertainment.
Taking the stage this week is The Lamplighters, a talented group of four musicians performing throughout the Des Moines metro and surrounding communities. Their lineup includes a guitarist and male vocalist, a multi-instrumentalist who plays violin, piano, flute, and bass, a digital percussionist, and a female vocalist. Together, they create a unique and engaging musical experience.
Dinner will be served by Snappy's Stickfire BBQ, a small outfit delivering big flavor with meats slow-roasted over a real wood fire using locally sourced wood. For dessert, Baan Vaan Ice Cream crafts small-batch, scratch-made ice cream in a commercial kitchen located in Des Moines’ historic Sherman Hill district. Using high-quality, high butterfat Iowa milk and cream, they create rich, creamy flavors enhanced with house-made ingredients like toffee cookie crumbles, slow-simmered blueberries, and melt-in-your-mouth chocolate stracciatella.
