About this Event
This event is for current IOE students only.
Please use your UCL email address, if you have one by now, to register for this event.
Peer-Led Academic Writing Retreats provide a structured and supportive space for you to work on your academic writing. The sessions are facilitated by IOE peer supporters (IOE alumni / senior students) as part of the IOE Peer Support Scheme.
The aim of the session is for you to produce or edit your own academic writing as part of an assignment / dissertation / thesis you are currently working on, so please plan what you would like to work on during the session.
Session structure:
- Introductions, rationale and goal setting
- Writing
- Break
- Continue with writing or Peer Review (Optional)
- Reflection and next steps
Please note that our aim is to enable you not to scrutinise. This is a safe space, where everybody is allowed to make mistakes, and we give permission to do so.
We trust that this experience not only will boost your confidence with writing but also allow you to form close connections with other students at IOE who are having the same challenges as you do.
Please note that the workshops are available on different dates and you are very welcome to attend more than once. The more you practice, the better you will become.
Each workshop will be hosted in the different room, and the notification about the location will be sent to you in advance. Look out for an email reminder from Eventbrite.
We will look forward to seeing you soon!
