Introduction to Zero Suicide
Join us for an introductory training on Zero Suicide, an evidence-based, system-wide approach to suicide prevention in healthcare and behavioral health settings. Grounded in the belief that suicide is preventable, Zero Suicide focuses on creating a culture of safety through leadership commitment, workforce training, routine screening, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement. The model also emphasizes safe care transitions, follow-up support, and the inclusion of lived experience to ensure no one at risk falls through the cracks. This session will provide a foundational understanding of the Zero Suicide framework. If your organization is interested in implementation, we welcome the opportunity to connect further after the training.
This workshop will be presented by Charvonne Long, MPH.
Charvonne is the Research & Evaluation Program Manager at Illume. She is also currently pursuing her PhD in Social Work at Saint Louis University.
