About this Event
An in depth 2 days of woodturning with our expert wood turner and technician Enrique Melin.
At the end of this course, even without any previous experience, you will get to take home a beautiful assortment of finished hardwood objects.
Day 1: You will learn the structure and safe use of the lathes with a variety of turning tools. You will practice control by spindle turning with a freestyle exercise followed by a more traditional, technical object to turn.
Day 2: You will learn about materials, how to prepare and mount them, how to realise your own designs and apply finishes by turning hardwood bowls through face turning.
The weekend affords you time to go at your own pace whilst being introduced to the joys of wood turning. You will be fully inducted into our wood lathes and gain the confidence to take on your own future projects.
If you would like to count this course towards a Certificate in Woodturning, please speak to the tutor during the weekend. Further details about the Certificate are on our Blackhorse Workshop website.

Once a course has started, we cannot offer any transfers or refunds.
When booking a course, please make sure you can attend all sessions, especially the first two sessions. We cannot transfer your place onto a later course or add extra sessions. The tutor will make their best effort to facilitate you catching up, but this may not always be possible.
We cannot offer refunds due to Covid or any other absence due to illness.
