Introduction to Spellography Workshop
Learn more about seamlessly adding Spellography to your reading and language arts curriculum to help students in grades 4-12 understand the English spelling system and develop critical spelling skills to improve reading and writing outcomes.
Tuesday, 12.03.24 | 8 :00 am - 11:00 am CT | $90 per day
Our 3-hour Spellography training, written by Dr. Louisa Moats, supports teachers as they move from a traditional weekly spelling test to a multilinguist approach to spelling instruction.
Attendees will learn how to explicitly and systematically teach students to spell using the Layers of Language by implementing Spellography Books A and B in their classrooms.
Educators will deepen their knowledge of these concepts and work through the Spellography routines that provide students with the multimodal practice they need to become proficient spellers.
Session Objectives include:
- Identifying activities that have been validated through evidence-based research and address the five components of reading
- Utilizing variations of the activities for whole class, small group, and individual settings
- Articulating how multisensory activities can change the brains of young readers
A 3-hour Certificate of Completion will be awarded for completing this workshop.
NOTE: Spellography Teacher's Editions or Student Workbooks are not included in the cost of this training session.
