About this Event
The name 'shibori' is derived from the Japanese word "shiboru" meaning to wring, squeeze or press. Learn three shibori methods and design original textiles using three plant based natural dyes (three different dyes used in each workshop.). Additional workshops this season will include different color option.
Dye silk or cotton using three shibori techniques and natural dyes which will include several of the following: Himalayan rhubarb, chlorophyll, quebracho rojo, logwood, indigo,, and others. At least three shibori stations and three different colors are offered. All materials provided. (Ask about bringing additional materials so you can prep the best results for your garments.)
Classes take place in studio 16 at Cherry Street Pier. Register for one on one, as a gift, or bring a group for an occasion. Additional workshops will be offered monthly with different colors each time.
