Join us at the Minnesota Association for Play Therapy’s annual conference for a Play Therapy Supervision Training for clinicians eager to add more tools to their supervision toolbox with play therapy supervision expert Marit Appeldoorn, MSW, LICSW, RPT-S.
This workshop will be an introduction to Reflective Play Therapy Supervision (RFPTS), a model for supervisors of new and experienced play therapists alike! RFPTS applies key components of play therapy to the practice of play therapy supervision, including flexible self-of-supervisor awareness, cross hemispheric learning, and embodiment. We will explore phases of play therapy supervisee development, and learn playful tools for assessment and intervention to increase confidence and resilience in the therapists we support!

CEs: This training is approved by the Minnesota Association for Play Therapy (APT Approved Provider 06-177) for 2 APT Non-Contact CEs. Play therapy credit may not be given to non-mental health professionals. This training is also pending approval by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapy. ​

From anywhere you learn and play! This event is a virtual non-contact event and can have unlimited participants. Cameras will need to be on the entirety of the training and you will need to pass a quiz to get your CEs.


Training Objectives
  • Identify the 4 principles of the Reflective Play Therapy Supervision (RFPTS) model.
  • Describe elements of the RFPTS play therapy supervisory role.
  • Assess play therapy supervisee development using a phase model.
  • Utilize 1-2 playful, crosshemispheric supervision and supervisor self-assessment strategies.
