What You’ll Learn:
Day 1: Foundations of Industrial Sewing
- Understanding the anatomy of industrial sewing machines.
- Safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of common issues.
- Threading, bobbin winding, and mastering stitch tension on a flatbed.
- Practising straight lines, curves, and corners for precision sewing.
Day 2: Exploring Fabric and Techniques
- Introduction to various fabrics and their handling characteristics.
- Threading industrial overlockers.
- Accurately cut shapes from cloth and practice using the overlockers.
- Applying practical techniques to construct a simple garment (i.e. a baby T-shirt).
- Adding finishing details such as binding and pockets.
- Practising speed control and precision for professional-quality results.

- Participants are encouraged to bring lightweight woven fabrics to practice on the final project.
- All other materials and equipment are provided.
